When international construction company John Sisk & Son Ltd were appointed main contractor for the £44 million Dawsons Corner improvement scheme for Leeds City Council, the team needed a flexible office base close to the project while planning works got underway.
The Dawsons Corner project is a major highway improvement scheme designed to transform one of Leeds's busiest junctions, improving traffic flow across the city's inner and outer ring roads. With construction due to continue until early 2027, the project required extensive collaboration between Sisk, Leeds City Council and the wider project team during its planning phase.
Initially, Sisk took two four-person office suites at Leigh House in November 2024 on a three-month licence while early project planning progressed. Following delays to the scheme after changes in government, the project was eventually given the green light, and the team needed to mobilise quickly.
As the project expanded, so did Sisk's office requirements. In February 2025, the team moved into a larger eight-person office suite with its own kitchen and toilet facilities, allowing colleagues to work together in one space. Shortly afterwards, they added a further four-person office, creating workspace for a total of 12 team members.
